January 26, 2008 on 12:25 pm | In books | No CommentsJust finished reading Cormac McCarthy’s “The Road“. I highly recommend it… it is haunting, harrowing, bleak and hopeless and yet beautiful and touching all at the same time. Probably the best novel I’ve read in the last 10 years at least.

The only solution, of course, is for America to ditch the war economy. Likely? Not yet… but sooner or later it will be a necessity for survival. I don’t expect the profiteers to go quietly.

It’s amazing to me how something so disgusting becomes the topic of calculated analysis and rationalization. I think we should be pre-emptive in cutting their balls off for suggesting it.
